Like all things, the more you practice the better you become at reading.  With this in mind, I would like all families to really focus on making sure children read regularly at home.  All children should read for at least 20 minutes each night.  Our younger children do need an adult to read to as they may need support to sound out or make sense of the words they are reading.  Older children still need to read independently and it is helpful to talk to them about what they are reading.

Let’s make it our resolution to ensure all children read regularly for pleasure.

Reception Places for 2017

If your child is due to start reception in 2017, you will need to get your applications in to The Woolwich Centre by 15th January 2017.  The Woolwich Centre are holding information sessions between Monday 9th January and Friday 13th January between 10am and 12 noon to help you with your applications. Children who attend our nursery setting do not automatically get a place in our reception class.
