Remote Education Provision

As you know, we have worked incredibly hard since the start of the pandemic in March, to keep our school as safe as possible, and that work has continued over the Christmas holiday period. We want to thank our incredible staff for their commitment and professionalism, which has seen many working over the holidays.

The Government has announced that ALL primary schools across England will close to most pupils due to high rates of Covid-19 transmission. This includes Nightingale Primary. It is expected that schools will re-open to all pupil from Monday 8th March at the earliest.

This means that:

  • If your child is classed as vulnerable, or if you or your partner is a key worker, then your child WILL return to school on Monday 4th January, 2021.
  • If your child is not classed as vulnerable and if neither you, nor your partner, is a key worker, then your child will NOT return to school until at least Monday, 22nd February. Your child is expected to engage fully with their remote learning during the term to keep up with their education. Of course, we will let you know as soon as the Government decides that the school can reopen to all pupils, including your child.

Please complete this form to see if your child qualifies as a critical  child (key worker parents or vulnerable for other reasons).

Critical Parents Survey Form

Report on our remote learning expectations

Our plan for critical workers and vulnerable children is as follows:

ALL ARRIVALS AND DISMISSALS WILL BE VIA THE FRONT GATES

  • Arrive at school at 9:15 am – walk down the main entrance and into Year 3 to be registered.
  • Students will be dismissed from school at 2:45.
  • Nursery aged children of critical workers/vulnerable category will follow a half-day pattern and be expected to attend a half-day AM ONLY session. Arrival is at 9:00 and collection by 11:30.

We expect students to:

  • Maintain the school’s behaviour policy
  • Wear normal school uniform
  • Complete the work set by their school so that they can continue their learning during this time
  • The school is closed for all other students, and we will provide support with remote learning and paper-based packs.

Remote Learning provision

As before, a great deal of planning and risk assessment has gone into ensuring that our school continues to be as safe as possible for pupils and staff, in line with the latest Government and Public Health England guidance. We will continue to make decisions in our pupils' best interests, working with you and keeping you informed every step of the way.

In line with decisions from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Maritime Academy Trust, we are moving most of our provision to remote learning from Monday, January 4th. Please see below for further details on remote learning through Google Classroom, Purple Mash and paper packs to ensure your child’s education continues with the least amount of disruption possible.
