Survey Results - 2014/15

21st November 2014

Dear families,

Thank you for your responses to our family survey.  We had a total of 25 forms back; each response is equal to 4%.

I have included a copy of the responses so that you can see what our families think of Nightingale.  We are always trying to improve the school to ensure we best serve your children and our community.

One family shared a fantastic comment saying ‘thank you for all the support you have given.  The help my child has received has meant their learning has exceeded all expectations.’

There are always ways in which we can improve.  Some families felt that communication between home and school could be improved.  We currently send out regular newsletters which are also available on our website, text messages and we use our Twitter feed to highlight learning that is taking place.  We also use our school website as a way to share with you all our values and ethos.  However, if there are other ways in which we could improve communication, I am happy to listen.

Homework is always an area which divides parents; some parents feel we give too much and others feel we don’t give enough.  It is not our practice to give out lots of sheets of paper for children to complete at home.  We expect all our children to read each day, practice their phonics or spellings, learn their important number facts and complete learning on the IXL maths system.

I will be contacting families who have  ‘disagreed’ or ‘strongly disagreed’ with a statement to come and speak to me about their concerns.
