In Team Gardner we have the following adults:

Our theme

Our curriculum topic for this term is Children in World War 2. We will be looking in particular at the Ernest Shackleton story.

Literacy

We will be studying Goodnight Mr Tom as our core text and our writing shall be based on the fascinating story of a your evacuee's relationship with his guardian.

 

Science

This terms focus for this term is electricity. We will study:

  • How circuits work
  • The properties of bulbs, buzzers and batteries.

 

Maths

Our focus this term will be on place value, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

 

Computing

We will be learning how to use search engines safely and efficiently, using the results to add to our digital portfolio websites.

 

Spellings:

At Nightingale we are using the Nelson Spelling Scheme. Each week, the class will focus on a different spelling pattern and will have a selection of words using that pattern to practice at home.

The list below shows the spelling patterns and example words for this term. It is expected that there will be other words each week that use the same pattern.
